Montgomery County R-II Wildcat Award, Mrs. Tiffany Heller December 2024 Today, we are celebrating individuals who truly embody our district’s 2024-2025 focus: “Educate, Encourage, Empower.” These remarkable staff members go beyond their roles, inspiring both students and colleagues every day. Empowerment starts with believing in our students’ potential. Our recipients create environments where every child feels valued and encouraged to take risks, nurturing their self-confidence and fostering independence. Tiffany has been taking on extra workloads with our day janitor out recovering. She always does her work with a smile even though we all know she is tired. Anytime something is asked to be done, she is quick to do it without complaint. Mrs. Tiffany is willing to help wherever she is needed, takes pride in a job well done and loves seeing the kids smile each day. She is a hard worker, team player and we are glad she is part of our JBE family. Our district’s mission is to create lifelong learners and productive citizens. The Wildcat Award winners support our mission by building meaningful connections, creating a supportive learning environment, and through their commitment to professional growth. Their dedication fosters a love for learning and makes our schools welcoming spaces. Today we are honoring Mrs. Tiffany Heller with the Wildcat Award.

Montgomery County R-II Wildcat Award, Mrs. Lacy Gambill December 2024 Today, we are celebrating individuals who truly embody our district’s 2024-2025 focus: “Educate, Encourage, Empower.” These remarkable staff members go beyond their roles, inspiring both students and colleagues every day. Empowerment starts with believing in our students’ potential. Our recipients create environments where every child feels valued and encouraged to take risks, nurturing their self-confidence and fostering independence. Lacy is fantastic at building relationships with the students. I've seen first hand how her interactions with specific students have changed the way those students feel about themselves. Not only that, the way she treats her coworkers is above and beyond with kindness and love. She works so hard at her job, but she also works so hard at being a good human. Lacy is always quick to support students. Anytime I ask for assistance or for her to talk to a student she pulls them right away or makes sure to do it typically by the end of the day. She is great at building relationships with students. On top of this, she incorporates lessons that match character traits of the month, pulls small groups for social skills, and supports all staff and students in our building. Mrs. Gambill has a caring heart, strives to lift others up and is always willing to help wherever she is needed. She has high expectations and a loving heart! The world would be a much kinder place if there were more Mrs. Gambill’s. Lacy Gambill with the Wildcat Award.

Today, we are celebrating individuals who truly embody our district’s 2024-2025 focus: “Educate, Encourage, Empower.” These remarkable staff members go beyond their roles, inspiring both students and colleagues every day. Empowerment starts with believing in our students’ potential. Our recipients create environments where every child feels valued and encouraged to take risks, nurturing their self-confidence and fostering independence. Today we recognize Julie Woods with a Wildcat Award. Julie seamlessly rotates our special needs students from our Special Education Classrooms to our General Education Classrooms. She provides the support each child needs to be successful without being a crutch. She knows when to push and when to support. Julie ensures that the needed accommodations and modifications are effective for both the needs of the student and the general education teacher. While supporting academics is a HUGE part of Julie's day, she also creates such a sweet sense of community and inclusion around the students she works with. Nudging our IEP students into group work with peers, reminding peers of safety concerns, providing support from a distance so students can experience independence with peers are things she does daily. Those are all super powers of Julie's. Her work does not stop there. She is often there as a support to the students around her that may not have set minutes. Bringing in extra clothing, replacing shoes, and packing extra snacks is something Julie does naturally. That extra help props those students up and increases the likelihood that they will also be successful that day (month or year!) I still recall all of the wolf themed items she purchased from local thrift stores to motivate a student that needed that extra attention and love. It WORKED! The child benefited, the general education teacher benefited and the class as a whole benefited. All because she saw a need and filled it. Without fanfare or sharing about it, she just did it. Those around her have watched her do that time and time again. Julie is a huge asset to this district and I have been blessed to see her work first hand, both as a teacher of a classroom she served in and as a parent. If our family is in a rush, we better plan ahead if we are taking our kiddo out into the community. If we run into his classmates we are getting high fives, hugs, and "dabs." THAT is because Julie has (and I use the word seamlessly again!) seamlessly woven our son into the social construct of our buildings. THAT isn't an IEP goal, but the value is worth its weight in GOLD. His success is because of so many hard working individuals in our district. It is also in huge part to Julie. Julie Woods with the Wildcat Award.

First, Julie Ellis is an exceptional teacher. Beyond that she has really helped students in her class prepare for college and beyond. She has shared scholarship opportunities with students. She writes recommendation letters, looks over college essays, and encourages students when they are unsure of themselves. Provides ACT prep for students above and beyond the normal school day. Mrs. Ellis provided an excellent example of public speaking to her students with her speech at the Academic Awards. When Mrs. Ellis is asked for assistance in any area, she usually says yes or finds a way to help. Mrs. Ellis has great insight to students' needs and has helpful information. In addition, Mrs. Ellis takes pride in our school by wanting to celebrate the staff. She has jumped in with retirement party plans, and social get togethers organizing meals and plans. Mrs. Ellis sets a good example for students and staff. She is truly a treasure and MCHS is lucky to have her. Mrs. Ellis is a Wildcat at heart and is passionate about advocating for all students, staff, the district, and community - and supports all things her students are involved in. Mrs. Ellis is a dedicated educator that strives to give her students the best experience possible and an education that prepares her students for their next steps. She is a leader in her department, the building, and district. Mrs. Ellis is also willing to learn more about ACT and Grow Your Own. She helps and instructs an ACT Prep class twice a year for our students on Mondays. Mrs. Ellis is willing to share her knowledge and practices with anyone as well as resources. Julie Ellis with the Wildcat Award.

Montgomery County R-2 is fortunate to have many great staff members and many wonderful community members who support our kids. The district recognizes staff members, as well as our community supporters each month with Wildcat Awards. The community members receive the P.A.W.S. award, P.A.W.S. stands for Perpetually a Wildcat Supporter. We are honored to recognize Heather Warren for the Wildcat P.A.W.S Award in acknowledgment of her outstanding contributions Heather is passionate about introducing healthy foods to our students. She seeks to educate about healthy choices and make fruits and vegetables appealing and enjoyable for our young learners. Heather is dedicated to bringing gardening to our students. She actively seeks funding to make gardening accessible and recently helped secure new raised beds for both elementary schools. She supports our students and families through things like the Crunch Off, sharing information about healthy choices and providing opportunities to explore the way different foods taste. Heather is a valuable member of the MCR2 community. We are blessed to have the resources and opportunities she shares with our students and schools. We continue to take nominations for the Wildcat and P.A.W.S. Award by completing the linked form, or you can email me (jschluss@mc-wildcats.org) your nominations. Ms. Cobb engages with students in positive ways even though her role can be seen as negative. She has implemented a postcard "program" to send to students. She remembers things about students' interests and talks to them about their interests. Ms. Cobb looks for ways to involve students and staff to make our school a better community. She attends functions, sporting events, and community events to support our students and staff. She gives positive feedback to staff. She does little things like remember birthdays and tries to make everyone feel appreciated and part of a team. In addition to all of these things, Ms. Cobb is an alumni of MCHS and takes great pride in our school and community. Jessie embodies the values and principles of Montgomery County R-2. She does an amazing job motivating students by speaking to them openly and honestly about their choices and life goals. She tries to help every student be successful while also being the one who is normally in charge of the discipline. She knows every student in our school's name, and can probably give you facts about them. She constantly shows up for the kids and her staff. There are millions of examples of her making a positive impact, walk down the hall and ask any student or staff member. She has truly improved the culture of the High School.
