Today we celebrated our students by allowing them to choose different fun activities to participate in. It was great for students to get to interact with teachers and in spaces they normally don't. A fun day was had by all!
A new tradition at MCMS is an end-of-quarter celebration complete with fun games and spirit competitions! Second quarter reindeer games were a lot of fun to watch. Eighth grade won 2 of the 3 games (with sixth grade winning the third) AND eighth grade won the very festive Spirit Bucket for having the loudest decibel cheer!
Students in Mrs. Healy's ELA classes have been hard at work the last few days solving the mystery of the destroyed snowman. Students are using their close reading, inference, and reasoning skills to help them narrow down the suspect list and solve the mystery.
We are so fortunate to live in a community that truly supports our students, teachers, and schools. Thanks to a mini-grant provided by several local civic organizations, Mrs. Gilbert's FACS students were able to choose from a number of fun, relevant fabrics with which to make their sewing projects.
On our last day of the semester, we will offer a concession stand to students. Attached, please find the list of items and prices should you choose to send money with your student. We hope everyone has a safe and restful holiday break!
Help us support Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital by bringing in hygiene and personal care products to the basketball game THURSDAY night. Please see the attached flyer and list of items.
Santa, Mrs. Claus, and reindeer and elves all made an appearance on our dress up day today!
Grayson and Myles developed a career fair for our students for their FCCLA Star Event project before we left for Thanksgiving break. They invited in many different members of the community in to share about their careers with the student body.
We are very proud of all the hard work that went into making this event successful. Way to go, Wildcats!
It is almost time! Students and staff, join us in celebrating with Twelve Dress-Up Days of Christmas beginning next Tuesday.
Students in Mrs. Henke's ELA class are reading "Twelve Angry Men."
We are very fortunate to work in a community that supports our schools, staff and students. Tonight recipients were recognized at the Board of Education meeting.
We are very proud of (left to right) Mrs. Godsil, Mrs. Gilbert, Mrs. Woods, Mrs. Healy and Mrs. Clements (not pictured) and cannot wait to see the great things their grants can do.
Mrs. Clements ELA and Learning Skills classes will soon have a new activity added to their weekly schedules! Thanks to many local organizations, our classroom was chosen for a mini grant. We know that journaling can help students improve communication skills, as well as attention to task. It can aid in setting and achieving goals. Research has shown it can help boost memory and improve comprehension by providing organizational practice, which can lead to a reduction in stress! This grant has allowed us to purchase all of these amazing items for a journal station!! Each student will have their own personal journal. I can't wait for our students to put "pencil to paper" as they say! Or marker!
Huge thank you to Montgomery City Kiwanis, Jonesburg Lions, Jonesburg Optimist, Jonesburg Lady Lioness, Montgomery City Lions, and Montgomery County Rotary for their support!!!!!
The Wildcat Warehouse, the school store at MCMS, which is used to support the efforts of students who are working to exhibit positive, respectful, and responsible behaviors has recently gotten many new items added to the inventory. These items were able to be added because of the generosity of many local civic organizations making donations to support the mini-grant program for educators in our community. A special thank you to: Montgomery City Kiwanis, Jonesburg Lions, Jonesburg Optimist, Jonesburg Lady Lioness, Montgomery City Lions, and Montgomery County Rotary for their support. Pictured from left to right with the store’s new inventory are: Chance W., Gary T., Ember F., and Raylynn G.
Students in Mrs. Gray's Math classes worked in cooperative groups to solve multi-step equations!
Basketball season is under way! Pictures of the boys' games to come soon!
Picture re-takes are this coming Tuesday, November 12. Students and staff members who did not have their picture taken on the original date need to plan to have theirs taken. Those who were unhappy with their first set of photos need to return them to get retakes.
If you have an athlete who needs a meal for after school on game days, FCCLA can help! See the attached link for a Google Order form for On-the-Go Sports Packs to be delivered to your athlete!

We were very fortunate to have some of our students' very favorite veterans join us today as well! (Veterans Day, Part 2)
Today we were truly honored to be able to recognize the brave men and women who have served this country in our Veterans Day Assembly. The assembly, created and run by our students, was truly a beautiful representation of the gratitude this school community feels for their service. (Part 1)
Montgomery County Middle School would like to recognize our October Wildcats of the Month. The theme for October was COOPERATION and we are very proud of Riley, Kelsey, and Katherine, who are all stellar examples of cooperative students. Way to go, Wildcats!
