JBE Supporters!
I know I sound like a broken record, but our JBE PTO really needs your support. I proudly say all of the time at administrator meetings, in our community and at professional development opportunities across our state how lucky I am to lead a school in such a caring community. In fact, I'm currently working on a presentation to give at the MAESP state conference at the beginning of March about all of the great things that are happening at JBE. One of the reasons that we are able to retain great staff and have a culture of learning, growing and loving kids is because of the incredible support we have from our community. The support we have is unmatched and for that, I feel truly blessed to be able to lead a school that loves my students as much as I do. With that being said, PTO NEEDS YOUR HELP for our upcoming carnival.
To be honest, I am getting a bit nervous. It was six weeks away, then a month, but now it is only two weeks away and we have 5 silent auction items and 6.5 games covered. Let's be honest. Carnivals don't bring most adults joy. We know that, but we also know how much fun kids have at a carnival. It's not just about the games and trinkets that you win. It's about community. I encourage you to consider signing up to work a game for a shift and bring your kid to let them play with their friends and make memories without a device in their hand. It doesn't get much more "good ole' family fun" than this.
Our PTO has tried really hard to make the carnival affordable to families by switching to a concession stand format instead of a sit-down meal, they offer individual game tickets and unlimited bracelets for sale, and the carnival will be in the gym so the kids are contained in one space so you can see them and you don't have to worry about the weather.
Ultimately, this long message is to, at this point, beg for your support. Please consider signing up to work a shift running a game or get together with a couple other parents and donate something for the silent auction.
Our PTO values doing fundraisers that are useful to you and your family. We have three fundraisers planned this spring. In March we will be selling IMO's cards, hosting our spring soap sale and of course the Carnival on February 25th. We do our best to choose fundraisers that are either an event or affordable and useful.
We truly love each and every kiddo at our school and want to be able to continue to do all of the extras that our PTO funds, but without parent support, we will have to scale back on the extras.
Thank you for your continued support of our sweet little school! I appreciate each of you. If you have any questions please reach out to any PTO officer or myself!

Montgomery County R-II received a safety grant from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Part of that money was allocated to fencing in our playground. Next time you are in the area, check it out. We want to clarify that the playground is closed to the community when school is in session. However, we encourage its usage outside of school hours. Please use the walk-through gate on either the east or west side of the playground.
